The gut repair programme is designed to follow on from the first stage of SIBO treatment

1. Killing stage. During this time antimicrobials are used to remove overgrowth of both bacteria and fungus in the gut to reduce symptoms of bloating, pain, inflammation and neurological symptoms.

2. Healing stage. This stage helps to restore the gut in a number of ways:
a. Anti-inflammatories to reduce the immune response in the gut that may have become chronic- a reset.

b. Important nutrients and amino acids to help support the restoration of the gut such as zinc, L-glutamine and hydrolysed collagen.

c. A healthy mucus lining is important to restore the function of the gut, components like DGL help to build up a healthy mucus.

d. Prokinetics. During this stage its important that the muscular contraction of the gut is restored. The restoration the migrating motor complex is essential to stop recurrence.

e. Slow introduction of FODMAP foods to rebuild a healthy microbiome in the large intestine. A restricted diet is not healthy.

f. Reintroduction of probiotics to the gut.

Programme includes twice daily pre-packed supplements and nutrients containing: Zinc, selenium, NAC, curcumin, silymarin, L-glutamine, DGL, hydrolysed collagen, omega 3 and vitamin D and  probiotics.
