    The need to know

    What are the benefits?

Support fat and not muscle loss

    • Support insulin sensitivity
    • Improved metabolic health
    • Reduce rebound

    The Science

GLP-1 receptor agonists work by mimicking the natural hormone glucagon-like peptide-1, which your body normally releases after eating. Scientifically, these medications bind to specific receptors in the pancreas, brain, and gut to trigger a triple-action effect:
They stimulate the pancreas to release insulin (but only when blood sugar is high) while simultaneously blocking the release of glucagon, a hormone that typically tells your liver to produce more sugar.
In the digestive system, they slow gastric emptying, meaning food stays in your stomach longer, physically extending that "full" feeling.
Crucially, they enter the hypothalamus to directly signal satiety (fullness) and reduce appetite, effectively "quieting" food cues and lowering the biological drive to eat.

How will I know its working?

Steadier energy and fewer post‑meal crashes within 2–4 weeks.
Reduced cravings for fast‑release carbs as protein and fat metabolism improve.
Triglycerides trend down; insulin sensitivity markers often improve when paired with diet and activity.

    When to take it?

    Mounjaro & Wegovy (Weekly Injections)
    These medications are once-weekly injections.
Day & Time: Take it on the same day each week. You can choose any time of day (morning, afternoon, or evening) that fits your routine.
Food: You can take these with or without food.

    Missed Dose:
Mounjaro: If you forget, take it within 4 days of the scheduled day. If more than 4 days pass, skip it and wait for your next regular day.

Wegovy: If you forget to take it, take it within 5 days. If more than 5 days pass, skip it.

    Rybelsus (Daily Tablet)
This is a daily oral tablet with very specific requirements for the body to absorb it.
Timing: Take it first thing in the morning, immediately upon waking.
Stomach State: It must be taken on an entirely empty stomach.
The "Water Rule": Swallow the tablet whole with a small sip of plain water only (no more than 120ml or 4oz).

The 30-Minute Wait: You must wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking anything else (like coffee or juice), or taking any other oral medications.

Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, skip it entirely for that day and resume the next morning. Never take two tablets at once.
